But that isnt a limited offer so its not a grabbit while you can.
  • I buy Value bananas every couple of days and have noted someone else saying they were only 36p a bag the other day. I check all prices before putting anything into my basket but in my store in the south east they are 73p and showing this online.

It certainly is a grabbit because it is obviously a special offer in your store or a misprice. Trouble is you can't buy loads because they certainly go black quite quickly!

but they can be frozen and made into banana bread or put in a blender to make a sort of ice-cream which is healthier than real stuff and less full of additives or can be blended with milk for banana milkshake, again straight from freezer or eaten straight as a frozen banana.

We have also recently had success with banana and strawberries mashed together with some milk poured into ice-lolly moulds so creating a ice lolly similar to mini milks
  • I bought some yesterday and they were 73p.

But check the dates on the bags carefully, thye only seem to have a day or two on the use by dates, fine if you have got a housefull but not if you intend them to last you the week. The last lot I bought on a Friday were black , mushy and unusable by Monday

Try putting the bananas in the fridge as soon as you get them home. The skins may darker etc, but the bananas themselves last for ages, the cool temp slows down their ripening.
Apparently they are shipped to the uk when they are 'green', and only warmed up and ripened when ready to send to the supermarkets. Have you ever picked some up in Asda etc and noticed that they are 'warm', and the plastic wrapping full of condensation !!
Also, try bbqing your ripe bananas ( keep them in the skins of course) when you have finished doing your burgers - delicious with ice cream !!
