This isnt a code exactly, but may be a way to get 500 points for nothing. I just found a 'refer a friend' section on the tesco website here:
I had just finished my food order and the website said at the bottom' where can we take you now. There was a list of 10 or so options, one of which was 'refer a friend' Sorry I cant make the link work-any one else more clever than me??
If you enjoy shopping online with Tesco.com, why not recommend a friend to our grocery service?- If you recommend a friend to the grocery service and they become a new customer*, you and your friend could earn 500 Clubcard Points each. 500 Clubcard Points is equivalent to £5 back in your Clubcard statement or £20 in Clubcard Deals
- To take advantage of this offer, simply fill in your friend's details below and we'll send them an email explaining the promotion
- Once they've registered, their details have been validated and their first order delivered, we'll give you both 500 Clubcard Points. The Points will appear in your next statement (it may take up to a month to process your Points).
- By completing your friends' details, you agree that you have obtained their consent to provide their details for the purpose of this offer
- There is a minimum order level of £50 on the first order placed and delivered to your friend

This is definitely a £70 shop (exc delivery charge). One of my shops amounted to £70.65 and it accepted. That's strange that you had 2 opposing messages for the same shop!! Normally, when you receive a confirmation on your shop it will state that "you have used coupons to the value of £9". I am pretty sure if it has accepted it then it will go through. Good luck!!
