Does anyone know how to tell when a Mango is ripe? We bought some for our little boy but have no idea if they are ripe or not.....

generally they go orange or red though apparently this depends on the variety aswell. They generally give when you squeeze them though and I find often have a smell whereas they dont when unripe.

    Hopefully someone can concur!

if there is a little 'give' to them when you gently squeeze them they are ripe. there is a long seed in the middle, take the mango and cut length-wise through it, about 1/3 in, turn around + repeat, then score the flesh and turn inside out (push the middle of the skin up and it will go from concave to convex) there is more flesh on the seed, but its easier to jsut eat it off the seed.

    YUM!
