Aegon change to Retiready

Hi all,

My fiance has a Aegon personal pension plan which he started at a old workplace. We are going to start contributing to this next month on a monthly basis.

We have had a letter off Aegon to say that they are transferring us to their new Retiready plan. I'll be honest, we know literally the bare minimum about pensions and even that little bit of knowledge is probably embarrassing!

Is anybody else with Aegon and is being switched over who has more knowledge then us? Do you have any concerns about it?

Thanks everyone :)

  • I have an old Group Personal Pension with Aegon and was also asked to move to Retiready. I couldn't see what the ongoing costs would be if different from my exsting plan so I didn't opt for it. Although the new website looks to be far better, the old one is workable.
It's not easy to find the costs for running the existing plan but I've worked out they are around .37% per annum, so fairly good but not quiet as good as a more recent Scottish Widows plan I have. So also interested if anyone can shed further light on this.

Remember that Aegon want you to move but it may not be in your interests to move. Some may be better off. Some may not. So, you need to be able to do the analysis yourself. If you cant, then an IFA or whole of market adviser can.
