isnt it just easier to report to action fraud if nothing to hide?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Reporting something as fraud when no fraud has taken place would be filing a false report of a crime. Its also the wrong thing to do as its not the actual problem and makes more hassle.Still rolling rolling rolling......

But if the op has a debt in their partners name, and know nothing but the company say its all their details then it is.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. So they stopped sending letters for about 4 months, then started about 6 weeks ago, usual crap about how they may have to obtain my credit file if I dont agree to pay £1 per week blah blah, but oddly after the 4th letter, the last three have come from Lowell,
no mention of the debt being taken over or why its now £580, but references the same account Capquest had been chasing are they the same company now?0 -
.
What was the outcome of the complaint you made via the FOS last time?
What did the FOS adjudicator/ombudsman rule/decide?
Same advice as before applies. You have to complain and follow through by taking it to the FOS if the matter does not get settled.
If you just leave it, it will get passed on again and again.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

As it stopped I didnt contact FOS last time, Do I now need to inform Lowell in writtain that its nothing to do with us, or if they are the same company as Capquest can I go ahead and complain straight away0

Often leaving these things and hoping they have gone away just delays the inevitable.
Lowell are not the same company or group, no.
So unless it says somewhere they are collecting on CapQuest's behalf, you will have to start from scratch I'm afraid.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

You see these people are like a dog with a bone, they just wont let go !!!
You must do as advised, otherwise it will just continue with different collection agencies until you do, or one of them issues a claim, and that would be far more hassle to deal with.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Ok, thanks for the replies, was in the process of buying a property last time so really didnt want the added stress of dealing with this, but i will send another template letter to Lowell tommorow.
It just striked me as odd I got the lowell one seven days after the last Capquest one, almost worded as a continuation as the previous letter with zero explanation to the debt being passed to them or why the amount had gone up.0
