charges on my property

Hi, i divorced my husband after he ran up debts, i discovered he had been taken to court as he had not paid his financial commitments, he chose to ignore letters so the debtors took their cases to court and have now placed charges on the family home. do these charges accrue interest. i believe he is not paying the debts still and although i've got the deeds to the house transferred in my sole name now the mortgage remains in both names. need advice please.
