Transferwise - what you see is not what you get

I've got a moan about transferwise - The wesbite showed me how much I would get, so I went ahead with the transfer, but when the money arrived it was £30 short.
Apparently it's always like this, the deal isn't fixed when you place the order. OK I can now understand why they do this, but they should surely make it clearer, and they easily could (note in the lower screenshot image, only revealed if you click on details, and nowhere else on the site or in the emails about the transaction do they say estimated amount received.
OK I moaned and they gave me an (estimated) refund, but it feels very deceitful to me. I've done a lot of money exchanges and this is the first time that what I was told I was going to get wasn't honoured. Boo Hiss.

that's why I prefer Currencyfair.com - 3 stage process.
You transfer sterling into your account, you buy the foreign currency at a rate you can see, then send the currency to it's destination.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
You used to be able to set a lower limit from the payment page, but it looks like the option has disappeared. You might be able to contact support and have the limit lowered. The ability to set a manual rate is a provision of their terms and conditions -- https://transferwise.com/terms-of-use0

Would be interesting to find out if you've an idea of the FX margin rate quoted them. Is this shown on their online system or do you have to call them to find that out?0

@currencyking
You seem to be resurrecting a large number of, sometimes very old, threads.
Care to explain your motives?0 -
I reported currencyking for spamming / pimping referral
