When i'm walking to the shops i pick the elastic bands up that the postie throws away.

I have this arrangement with my postie. For every piece of junk mail he pushes through my letterbox he also posts an elastic band. I don't have much in the way of junk mail and I don't use lots of elastic bands so the amount he pushes through is just right.:D

I use elastic bands when i'm putting stuff in the freezer found they're better than wire twists. When bags of frozen veg or fish or whatever are opened i put them into the old wax cereal bags ...... (i throw nothing away), then a rubber band goes around.

  • I do exactly the same. I pick them up when walking to and from work.

I use them to tie up food bags (I use cereal bags).

I normally wash the bands beforehand though.

  • My postman always drops them to. I've picked them up and used them a few times :) I wish he'd leave more of these and less of the junk. Bet he would to!
