Brittania pension reviews cold call?

I got a call from someone offering a free Pension review as part of the new government scheme. She gave me a website name of http://britanniapensionreviews.com but that seems like a commercial website. I am 53 and really must look at my pensions so a review would be good but I have no idea who to trust..
Anyone got any advice with this firm?

"new government scheme" is a sign that the call was a scammer lying to you. There is no government scheme that provides such calls or free pension reviews.
Do what the police and financial conduct authority say you should do about cold calls involving financial services: hang up.
Never do business with any firm that calls you because it's how the scammers find their customers, while the legitimate companies are usually prohibited by regulations from making such calls.
If you want a review of your pensions you can post details here. Guaranteed to be free because there's no way to pay us.

Scam. There is no such Government scheme.
Referring to Govt or regulator or HMRC etc is a common scammer technique.
other ways to tell are
1 - Is the company on the FCA register - this company is not and therefore not legally allowed to do what they are saying (they say on their site that they are introducers but the FCA register shows introducers now and they are not on there as introducers either)
2 - Advisers are fee based only. There is no such thing as a free review when using regulated investments. The FCA have a consumer warning about free pension review phone calls and they tell you to hang up and do not engage with them.
3 - No genuine regulated financial services company will cold call on that sort of thing. It just doesnt happen. She gave me a website name of http://britanniapensionreviews.com but that seems like a commercial website.
it is commercial.
Any local IFA or whole of market adviser. https://www.unbiased.co.uk is the main database. They check the qualifications of the individuals before they allow them to be listed. They are also checked against the FCA register to make sure they are authorised and regulated. They also allow the adviser to upload their statement of professional standing.I am 53 and really must look at my pensions so a review would be good but I have no idea who to trust..I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
