Hi all,
Sorry for all my threads, just getting well into it now.
Regarding calculations of income etc, just wondered if my thinking is correct in the examples below.
Note, below just used as an example no real figures, just rounded for ease.
System: 4KWp
Fit:13p / KWh
Generation: 4p / KWh
Estimated export 50%
None specific winters day, dull but bright for about 2 hours.
Generate 1.5KWh for 2 hours
Total 3KWh
At 50% export = 1.5*4 = 6p
Fit = 3*13p = 39p
Total income for that day would be 45p
None specific summer day, bright for about 8 hours (if this is possible)
Generate 3.5KWh for 8 hours
Total 28Kwh (probably well over the top but just example)
At 50 export = 14*4p = 56p
Fit = 28*13p = £3.64
Total income for that day would be £4.20
Is this how it is calculated or have I not grasped the idea of how FIT & Export work.
Please don't pull me up on my fictitious daylight hours and generation, I'm just interesting in how the FIT and export work.
Of course I also understand that there is additional saving on your lecy bill for not using theirs.
Cheers
Martin

Yes
As simple as that, nothing complex.
Don't forget to add in electric savings if you can, plus if you have a diverter switch {like an iboost) then there is potential for gas savings!4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.0 -

Yep that's it, or see section 1 of the PV FAQs.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Well, if I have understood that part, things look very good. Now I see why it is more important to go for a larger system for the FIT payback!
My current usage in cost is about £1.17 / day. Going back over my last 5 years bills, this doesn't seem to vary much, 5 years ago it was about £1.00 / day. We are not heavy users (2800KW/year) and we don't tend to use much more in the evening than the day and winter / summer doesn't seem to make much difference either even though we have lights on earlier in winter.
I work away, about 1 month away and up to 3 month home each cycle and as a geek, most electricity is used by me and my computers, and that is mainly in the daytime too.
Missus doesn't work (at the moment), so things like washing, ironing etc are done in the day too. The only thing we have on really in the evening which would cost money is the good old tv, and as its a plasma, it is probably the most hungry thing in the house at 500W rating. (yes, 500W!)
Anyway, moving home soon and will be purchasing a nice new LCD tv rated at about 70w max, so that is going to save a bit of the evening electricity.
So, next visit to the new house and I will do some measuring and get an idea of what I can get on the roof.
After moving in, will then get some quotes.
(Edit) - Oh, where can I find section 6 onwards of the FAQ as there is no chevron or link visible to me?
(Edit 2) - Sorry, just found it.
Cheers
