Mortgage hidden bits - help!

I'm having a few problems with C&G mortgages. I changed mine to a repayment one last week and when the advisor was going through the paperwork she said there was an amount included in the mortgage figure that was for buildings insurance (which I didn't know about). I have always had separate build&cont. insurance so it looks like I've been paying for 2 building insurance policies since 1999!

Does anyone know if I can claim this amount back from C&G?

I think I'm in a bit of a mess!!

    You cannot claim it back from C&G.

    You can however, inform both insurers of dual insurance and they will decide how to pay you back the difference. It's not an uncommon error but it is one where you will get money back.
