I have been with YBS and have been offered 2.49% 3 year fix (no fees) on 75 k remaining of mortgage, which I am happy with. I asked about making a one off payment and was told I should delay the transfer for one day, make the one off payment and then commence the new deal the following day. There is 10% restriction on overpayments for the term on both new and old deal. This makes sense but I'm not good at this sort of thing so would welcome any feedback on this.
Also I overpay about £200 per month, there is 11 years left to pay. Is it the same if I am overpaying but the term remains the same or should I be reducing the term and ensuring the monthly repayments are the same?
Any replies greatly appreciated.
