Hi all,
Been a few weeks since last thread. After speaking with various people and keeping a very close eye on the threads on here we've decided we are going with York!!!!! Building Society.
Been on their website, were looking at 2 houses around the 95k mark and we earn 41k together. We have no debt and no overdraft facility, the only main outgoing for concern at present is I pay a standing order each month to a close friend who gets a Nissan Juke through his work scheme, I don't own the car and this obviously wont count as credit against my name.
Both this morning just accessed online Equifax credit report (YBS only use Equifax). We have no defaults or CCJ's however my concern is my girlfriend has 5 missed payments on a credit card but they are all before February 2013 and the account was settled last year. Also I settled a credit card in 2011 however 4 missed payments show in 2007 for that. Everything has been settled and we now only have mobile phone and current accounts outstanding on our report.
My worry was the missed payments however I have read on another thread the criteria that a broker has kindly dropped in, apparently missed payments are only really a problem if they have been within the last 2 years. Can I get some expert opinion on whether we should wait a little longer before applying??
Thank you all

I'd wait till one of the brokers or advisors see this and get there take on it.
Personally I think you'll be fine, the missed payments are over 2 years ago and if you have shown you have managed your finances well over the last 2 hears it's unlikely they will even question the missed payments from that long ago.0 -
Thanks Mick.
I've read that some missed payments are fine but not as many as the amount we have between us. I'm just hoping because they are a long time ago the application will be fine.
No debt, 3/4 loans and credit cards between us over last 6 years which all show as settled should hopefully go in our favour.0 -
Does any one in these forums have experience or have they been in a similar situation?? Thanks0

Ask the York B S their criteria as this saves a lot of conjecture.0
