    The Government disagree with you,

The government may disagree, but legislation doesn't.

Bank holiday act 1871 is the surrounding bank holidays, was replaced by the banking and financial act in 1971, which doesn't specify good Friday, but does only apply to banking and financial industries. Asda supermarket won't fall under that category.

Good Friday is a public holiday not a bank holiday according to the BBC.

It is likely the wording of the contract covers both though if even applicable in a non bank/finance industry.

And it certainly ain't a a Bank Holiday, or any other kind of Holiday in Scotland though the banks will be closed if the English banks are closed. Confused?
