Running shoes

Hi
Can anyone advise if there is the same level of cushioning in stability running shoes and there is in cushioned/neutral running shoes? Do you lose some of the cushioning in order to accommodate the stability part of the shoe or is it a case that you get the same level of cushioning only the stability running shoe will be heavier?
Thanks

might be best to ask a specialist running shop for advice & also get your gait analysed at the same time0

better ask a trainer or nike representative.0

You will tend to lose a bit of squidgyness in a supportive shoe. Just like a mattress you need to balance cushioning and support. If you are a heavier runner you will likely need a more supportive shoe due to the forces going through your body. In that case, very highly cushioned shoes may be too squidgy and so wont support your foot in a good position with the however many times your bodyweight the force of running is.
Go to a specialist running shop - try some shoes on. Find one that not only fits well but feels good too. The only person that can advise is the person doing your gait analysis. It is not just a simple scale from cushioned to stability - some stability shoes are definitely for heavier runners but some are very very very heavy and stiff the Brooks Beast was notorious (don't know if they still make it). Some cushioned shoes might even be too squidgy for even a gait perfect runner - nothing compares to going and trying on shoes. My 4mm drops have arguably less cushioning than my old asics nimbus - but they are a far superior shoe for ME - they make me run as if I was made to run, they make me feel light on my feet and they feel like I am running on pillows - despite being less squidgy than previous shoes.
Go and try some on and get some professional advice.0
