Christmas savings idea for all you wonderful savers!

I didn't think of this until this year, but instead of getting everyone something, why not have a secret santa? That's what we're doing this year. Since I'm American, we have Thanksgiving dinner. We'll have one for friends and another one for family, so that's when we'll be picking names. The limit for friends is £15 and we're going to make a small list of 4-5 things we want (or need) within that limit. We're going to bring the idea to my husband's family. But we'll have a larger limit, maybe £30. When we buy everyone something, it really adds up, and we're not making enough money to warrant spending so much, even on a holiday. Then of course, I want everyone to have something of the same value to be fair to everyone. So instead of spending over £100 on everyone, we'll only be spending £45. Plus, instead of getting lots of little cheaper things, you can get one person one (of a few) really good things.

We're still going to get our friend's kids something, there's only 3 of them anyway. And I'll still be getting my husband presents.

We're going to do this with the close family. I hope they'll go for it.
