Iv been in the royal navy for 7 and a half years. First few tears i had no problems getting credit but for some reason the past couple of years noone will touch me. I was with lloyds tsb, but since they split this is when the problems started and now im with halifax. My address is the naval establishment and im on the electoral role for the base. Iv never had money problems and only have a few small outgoings now. Experia say they cant find me with the base address and even my own bank wont approve me for anything. I dont no what else i can do. If anyone can help please get in touch with me. Im 26 and want to buy a house soon but i have no chance if i cant even get an overdraft. Many thanks

Is the address experian have for you written in the exact same format as the electoral roll use?
With complicated address a slight difference in presentation can cause a problem.
Have you tried getting copies of your credit file from the other 2 agencies (callcredit and equifax) and if so do they show you as being on the elec roll?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
You may be better off using your parents address to vote and for your bank.
Sometimes military addresses are too complicated to be correlated by various systems.

I always used my Parents address in my early years in the Forces.
Voting was by Proxy in case I was deployed somewhere.
Hardly anywhere will recognise a military address when finance is concerned, it is made more complicated by the frequency at which you move about (you wouldn't satisfy the "3 years" criteria).
I think you may be stuck with NAAFI loans, or whatever iteration they have manifested into now to rip you off.0 -
My son left the army last year after eight years, but in all that time I kept him on the Electoral Roll at my address, and he had no problem when it came to getting two cars on HP over the past two years. Neither has it been a problem getting an EE phone contract.
There was no come-back with my single person discount for council tax purposes as he paid something like 50p a week council tax at his base on Northern Ireland."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry.
