I'm sorry, but you really need to calm down as you have blown this out of all proportion. Mailing the bone to asda would never have come to anything as it wasn't a foreign body in the food. I've checked in my freezer and the 3 fish products I have in there (cod, salmon fillet and fish fingers) all have statements on the packaging regarding the possible presence of bones. This is what it says on the Birdseye fish fingers: "although great care has been taken to remove all bones, some may remain". I think it is a fairly safe bet that there is a similar statement on the fish you purchased. Please just let this go, and try to encourage your children to continue to eat fish.0

Blimey op calm down, while it must of been unpleasant for your daughter I'm sure she is over it....one of mine was 10 when she got a fish bone stuck into her tonsil I got the tweezers pulled it out and she carried on eating the fish...
All packaging for fish I have bought always warn customers there maybe bones in, I would be surprised if yours doesn't.0 -

NO MENTION OF MAY CONTAIN BONES THE LABEL SAYS IT DOESNT!
i want then to find out how this could have slipped by if your 10 year old had eaten this and it lodged in there throat they could have died
do you not think they should look into it and how it passed there checking system etc?
asda lost the bone say i didnt hand it just randomly gave me a refund but wont look into it? what would you do then leave it?
Absolutely I would leave it. It wasn't a piece of metal or plastic - it was something entirely natural and entirely to be expected. Having had a child choke I know how awful it must have been for you at the time, but it is something that can happen with fish products. If you want to guarantee that there are no bones then cook something like skate wings where the flesh just slides off the cartilage - my 4 year old loves it. I've got some in the freezer and its £12/kilo from the fresh fish counter.0 -

I choked on a fish bone when I was even younger (around 3 or 4) and did nearly die. The only lasting effect it has on me is that even the smell of fish makes me feel sick.
Unfortunately due to the nature of fish bones, its just one of the risks i'm afraid. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
If it is this product then it warns there is a chance of bones

I do worry though that we are so risk averse that we worry about feeding a child fish- some of my greatest memories include sharing my dads fish and chips out of paper when we went to the seaside. It would be a great shame if children nowadays never knew the guilty pleasure of fish and chips from a fish shop.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. At last, a hysterical rant when someone can legitimately sob A CHILD COULD HAVE DIED (well, sort of)0

You never know with parents tbh. They seem to worry about risks the media tell them to worry about (sugar in fruit shoots for example) rather than things that have far more strict guidelines (ie phones not being given to kids under 12 or allowing kids even pre-school age to play 18 rated games). You keep using that word.
