Yes, it is spam and the attached word or Excel file is malicious.
There has been a flood of reports about these emails this afternoon, on various forums and sources, so someone somewhere is sending them out in exceptionally large quantities today.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

http://www.aspiringsolicitors.co.uk/scam-using-aspiring-solicitors-name/Unfortunately it would appear that someone is spamming thousands of people claiming to be from Aspiring Solicitors. Please ignore this as it is not genuine. Please also take comfort from the fact that our system and privacy policy has not been breached. I will update you when this has been resolved.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Cheques or Postal Orders should be made payable to Royal Bank of Scotland PLC
How could a cheque or PO made payable to RBS be cashed by a crook, though? Intriguing.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

No, its not the wording of the email, its the content, it says "click here to download statement", if you do so, you will get malware on your PC, the solicitors are actually real, but the email does not originate from them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
