Strawberries, Blueberries & Raspberries

Options
Ive got a few of each (were all half price in Tescos this week), and I need some inspiration as to what to do with them as I need to use them up today.

Any ideas? Its to feed two adults and a three year old (although I can puree some up for my seven month old)

Roll out a piece of puff pastry into a rectangle; bake it, mix ricotta cheese with icing sugar and vanilla essence if you like, spread this on top and then place the berries on top ... voila!
    That's Numberwang!
  • by themselves?? ON icecream, with yogurt, baked into a crumble? made into a pie? with custard sauce or baked custard? added into jelly?

Or blended with a banana and some joghurt into a smoothie. You can then freeze this into lolly moulds.

Or Freeze them till you want to use them up. I keep 3 tubs in freezer - 1 has blueberries in , 1 has rasps and 1 has brambles in - I tip them in and keep them loose in tub and use as I feel like it - sometimes I take a handful of blueberries and defrost them and add to my cereal in the morning but they keep ages and sometimes take out for a trifle.
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j
  • Or make sherbet out of them? or a granita (a chunky sherbet)? Or freeze them for use int eh winter as a treat then? Or made into a fool and stuffed into fairy cakes/ scones/ spongecake? marinaded in rum/brandy and orange zest (Adults only!) then spooned over icecream??
  • Oohhh thanks! Some great ideas!!
Im loving the puff pasty/ricotta cheese idea!

I suppose I could just eat them on their own, but I wanted to be creative! :D
My freezer is too full for me to put anything else in it!

I think I will make some blueberry muffins as well :D

Im supposed to be on a diet!
    Thanks for those!

Oh I wouldn't have that problem! I love berries of any kind just by themselves, or perhaps with a bit of cream.

Raspberries are great in cupcakes, chop them and put half in the mixture and sprinkle half on top (they sink easily).

    Summer pudding.

You just the extra ingredients of sugar and bread.
    I wish you......
    A sunbeam to warm you,
    A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.
  • Crush a digestive biccy, put in bottom of tall glass then add fruit, then add some yoghurt/creme fraiche then add a bit more biccy then more fruit..well you get the idea.
Even my fruit phobic kid likes it
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
