Life was good to start with then u realise as soon as u are happy something comes and blows it all away. The happier u are the bigger the blow.
We were really happy had a nice house the two dogs then my ME stopped me working. I've been off a year and the last 6 months we've been struggling along with me on half pay but now my pay is finished.
I've managed to get incapacity benefit which is £60 a week when I used to get £80+ a day. We rent out both our spare rooms but one has been empty for a couple of months. People keep saying its nice and they're really keen but they never come back. I've had 2 people say they want it then phone me to cancel. I've dropped the price now and I just hope someone takes it.
Here's my SOA:
Income
OH Income £1632.41
Benefits £259.80
Rent £346.40
Total £2238.61
Outgoings
Mortgage £880.62 (interest only)
House Insurance £23.46
Council Tax £114
Water £28
Gas £54
Electricity £37
Mobiles £35
Window Cleaner £2.67
Pet Insurance £17.48
Other Insurance £74.87 (incl life and critical illness for both)
Food £214.85 (incl dogs)
Car Insurance £51.75
Car Tax £14.7
Petrol £45
Pension £100
Pet Costs £13
NTL £42.00 (incl B/band, phone,tv)
TV licence £11.37
Hair etc £35.00
Papers £7.58
Total £1774.35
Debts
Loan £421.85 £25000 owed
MBNA £17.17 £3629.17 owed
Virgin £69.18 £3075 owed
IF £49.50 £2475.56 owed
Total £557.70 £34179.73 owed
That puts us £110 a month short of all the bills and no money put aside for emergencies. It was £389 up till Friday when I heard about my benefits.
I have reduced everything to the cheapest I could find. I will be trying the local college for my hair as soon as I find out if I can get there.
Any help would be great. My ME just keeps getting worse with all this stress

hi there, just the obvious to start with double check you're getting the best deals on all those bills.
One thing i did notice was the loan (£25000)I'm guessing with this sort of repayment it was a sizable one to start with? could you replace it with a more affordable one over maybe a longer term, perhaps with allowable overpayment's. At least that way you could bring down the monthly outgoings and get yourself back into the black. You could then work on paying back the c.c.'s and over pay the loan later on. (£25000x120 mth's approx £270)Time, Tide and Diarrhoea wait for no man.

Thanks for the help
The £25000 loan was the only one we could get.
I haven't got critical illness cover yet as they won't give it to me.
The OH has the papers and he reads them at work on his break. He says he doesn't want to stop them. We're not getting on too well at the moment
The NTL is the cheapest way to go I've already checked that.0
