TPS - Old / new scheme, need help to understand

My wife is a teacher and has been a member of the TPS for just under 13 years, under the old scheme her NPA was 60.
With the new scheme she has tapered protection and will enter the new scheme when she is 59 and 1 month, BUT I believe her NPA will be 65.
Please clarify does her NPA change to 65 from April 2015?
My wife is always saying that the culture of the school is to push older teachers out or into admin jobs and a salary cut and that at present there are no teachers over the age of 58/59.
So if this is still the case and she were to 'retire' at 59 under the old scheme she would have received a slighly reduced pension for retiring 1 year early, I assume that under the new scheme this would be a higher reduction??

No it changes to state pension age.So if this is still the case and she were to 'retire' at 59 under the old scheme she would have received a slighly reduced pension for retiring 1 year early, I assume that under the new scheme this would be a higher reduction??
Your wife's accrued benefits will still be able to be accessed in full from age 60 - this sounds like most of her pension. If she wants to retire at age 60, then only 9 months would be under the new scheme and would have a reduction. She could also choose to retire and just take the age 60 benefits and leave the other 9 months till state pension age.0 -
Does the NPA change to state pension age? all the documentation put out so fave by the TPS states 650

Yes it changes to state pension age. Every piece of information I've seen states that clearly. The only reference to age 65 is where that would be higher than state pension age which is extremely unlikely.
From https://www.teacherspensions.co.uk/reform/members/at-a-glance.aspxNPA is equal to the State Pension Age (SPA) or 65 where that is higher0
