Anyone know where I can buy a square, white lightshade cheaply?
I want to turn it into a minecraft ghast for my grandsons room, so I don't want to pay too much. I found a paper one in B&Q, but it was so flimsy, it was ripped when I took it out of the packet!

Ikea perhaps?0

Thanks - but I can only find rectangular ones in Ikea. I know argos have one, but it has terrible reviews, so I think it may be as flimsy as the B&Q one.0

Thanks cisco, but it's cream. :-(0

How about this one from Habitat? You could click and collect from Argos if you didn't want to pay postage because they sell it too. It's paper as well, but I reckon a lot of cheap square ones will be.0

...or just buy the Habitat shade direct from Argos: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Search/searchTerm/square+paper+lampshade.htm0

Thanks - I have seen the habitat/argos one, and it has bad reviews, saying it is really flimsy. I need to be able to paint grey tears, and put black tape eyes and mouth on it, which is why I don't want to pay £30 or so for one.
It amazes me how helpful people are on this board - so thankyou again everyone. :-D0 -
Why not give the Habitat shade a go and if it tears as easily as you fear, just recover it with new paper? Easy to do with a square shape and you don't need special paper - white printer paper will do it (and if you can get hold of a few A3 sheets rather than A4, that should make the job even simpler).0

I thought of trying with the B&Q one (I'm not very good at things like that), but would have thought it needed to be fire retardant?0

No, but you need to use the correct bulb. See http://www.paperlightshades.co.uk/paperlampshadesafety.asp0
