Somewhat annoyed - Good Leasehold

So my application has been in with the lender for well over five weeks. Last word from MA is that systems are being changed thus the delay. Valuation done. Been told offer will be forthcoming once valuation is assessed, and I was told that last Friday. Now I am hearing from the solicitor that it is only a Good Leasehold and not Absolute and the lender will need to know this. Also that there is no evidence tying seller to freehold and more documentation is required. Surely I should have been told this upfront? No Absolute Leasehold. Rant over....
