New application with change of circumstances

Options
We're thinking of downsizing, unfortunately my other half is currently out of work, our current mortgage is joint. Having done some fag packet calculations my wage will cover a new mortgage and all the bills ok. Will we be able to apply for a joint mortgage or will it have to be a single application by myself? Obviously my other half wants to be on the deeds etc
What's the best way to go about this?

Thanks in advance!

Joint is fine with one applicant only employed provided the numbers fit.
