Hello all,
I'm looking to buy a new PC for around £700 and I would like to know what I should look for.
I do not want to play games. I mainly want to surf the net, play music and movies. What new technology is out there? Should I get one with a TV tuner.
Any simple explanations welcome!!!
Cheers

I doubt you need to spend so much money for your purpose.
Look at this http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=uk&fb=1&l=en&oc=D08V02&s=dhs
If you choose the 22" monitor, reduce the warranty to 1 year, it quote me £346.69.0 -

i have a small dell optiplex in the living room that is connected to my hi-fi and tv setup, very easy to do and the dell box is virtually silent. i can change the channel on the tv to check mail/select music/surf/watch movies.
you can get these dell boxes for about £100 on ebay.0 -

Cheers all. Some good ideas there.
I wanna avoid PC World, went in there today and I dont like their attitude! However this PC was on offer. Is it worth the money?

Yep, go for it! Again, yyou could get a Dell for cheaper, but I'd say even an Advent is better than a Dell!
Hope this helps.0 -
I bought a Dell E521 for £450 for pretty much the same requirements at yours, that was in Dec 2006.Happy chappy0

There's a base unit at Aldi for £399.95 at the moment (see grabbit board for full spec), seems to get a general thumbs up and it does have a three year guarantee. You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0
