London Train fare oddity

I couldn't see this posted elsewhere so apologies if it has already been discussed but I recently noticed something strange with off peak train fares.
My parents were due to travel to London so I checked the fares for them. From Sidcup is works out at £11.00 return but from Dartford it's only £9.20 despite the fact that Dartford is four stops further away from London on the same line. I can only assume that there's a minimum fare within the travelcard zones (Dartford is outside of them).

I hate verisimilitude.

The £11 fare from Sidcup isn't an off-peak fare, it's an Anytime fare. If you want the off-peak fare from Sidcup use Oyster or Contactless (which in this case is £3.10 each way).0
