is there always notifications of winning?

so today i received a card from royal mail stating i have a parcel waiting for me at my local office... i havent purchased anything so i know it nothing that im expecting, has anyone ever won an competition and not had an email confirming that they have won and just recieved the item as im really puzzled as to what this could be???

Yes, last year i had won the 'Strictly Come Dancing 2015 Annual' i didnt have an email or phone call stating that i had won this.. Luckily i was in on the day it was delivered,

yes Last Month a huge box arrived... It turned out to be a posh bag and purse with a congratulations note inside(turned out to be from a Harpers Bazzar comp) No phone call or Email before hand. It was a nice surprise

excellent i cant wait now, i enter hundreds of competitions ive won a few tickets to football games and a few toys, i hope this is a parcel from a win will keep you informed thanks for responding xx

unfortunately it wasnt a win, but a free box of chocolates from another company as an apology lol.

I once received a card to say I had missed delivery and the next day it was redelivered and inside was an iPad!
