Joint Mortgage With Brother Possible?

Options
Can you fine folks please advise on if it's possible to obtain a joint mortgage with my brother, as my own salary is not enough to buy a property at the moment, but if we combine salaries, then we can easily get a mortgage for the amount we require, but I don't know, if this is at all possible, we are both married with children.

If you are both living in the property, yes.

Otherwise, he may be able to act as your guarantor.

  • The complexity here is not obtaining the mortgage (whether you are actively sharing use of the property or not) but making sure the arrangements look after everyone's interests in both the long and short term with possible future developments in mind.
