Been refunded more than twice what I should have been!

Options
I don't know where to post this!

I think I have been refunded twice or more for clothing that I bought from a department store.

I bought two items (same items, different sizes) using a gift card online. They were 'online exclusive' items and I had them delivered to my work address. I returned one of them to a store, and got a receipt saying one item had been refunded back on to the gift card.

I went into store today and spent only a few pounds. I looked at my receipt to see that three times the value of the item I returned last week is now on the gift card. It works out as the refund for the item I genuinely returned, plus the same amount twice more.

I don't know what to do! Can I spend it? Will they trace me and take me to court or something?!

The only reason I can think that this may have happened is because the two items looked exactly the same on the order note, and neither me nor the shop assistant could work out which was which. I think she may have refunded the whole order, in addition to refunding the one item I returned.

Just tell them and let them adjust the gift card to the correct amount.

Don't be silly!, sit back relax, chill out , don't spend any money yet for a while , then enjoy . I think you may still go to heaven!.

If you feel guilty , then do the next silly thing & get it sorted.
