In a hole

  • Honestly? I think you are clutching at straws. If it was me I would bite the bullet and sell up, release your sister from the arrangement and rent for a while. Focus on paying off your debts and saving and you could be in a position to buy again on your own in a year or two.

I was in a similar boat after the break up of my marriage, I threw all my money (and some other people's) at trying to keep my flat when the bank said I couldn't afford it and ended up having to sell anyway because the fact was - they were right, I couldn't afford to keep it. I thought 'getting off the property ladder' was a terrible move but now, less than 18 months later, I am debt free and buying a house. Renting was stress free, cheaper than my mortgage and has given me breathing space to get back on my feet. If you get your head around it, you could be in the same position.

Cheers guys, Glasgow - Nice its worked out that way for you.

I have three estate agents doing valuations in the next few days. If its valued above what I owe plus selling fees I will be putting it on the market.

    Fingers crossed.......
