Would a recent job change (or change during the first year of a mortgage) affect things for getting a mortgage?
More specific details if needed:
I've recently began watching the listings with thoughts about my first buy. I have good savings. But there isn't any scope to progress further with my current employer. A recruiter is sniffing around and there does seem to be a lot of interest out there, I reckon I'd jump ship either in about a month, or hold off until around the end of the year. It'd be the same or more money, possibly with probationary period.
I'm a risk-adverse type and would rather one life-changer at a time, but the landlord is looking for a new one year lease (if I moved it'd be 6-12m lease and paying quite a bit more rent than the mortgage would be).

A change after you have purchased is not a problem.
A change before you purchase needs to be managed correctly.
A change whilst you purchase is a problem.I am a Mortgage Broker

What if the new role doesn't work out? Personally I'd move job first before making long term financial commitments.0
