Contact Lens Price Comparison Site?

My optician is happy for me to purchase my contact lenses online provided I buy the brand recommended by her. She has a contact lens scheme but can't match the prices of the online retailers. She makes enough money out of me anyway as I get my glasses from her and also pay £3 a month on a scheme that gets me free spectacle/contact lens checkups (which some opticians will charge separately for), half price contact lens solution and a 25% discount on lenses/frames. Factor in what the eye test costs and how much I'm saving on contact lens solution which is a fraction of the price of Boots if you buy their economy brand and use the discount and I'm slightly ahead.


My issue is that buying lenses online has now become a bit of a chore because all the online places disguise their prices. Usually the price per lens they advertise assumes you're buying a twelve month supply rather six and also what different sites assume constitutes a "six month supply" varies widely. I buy a disposable lens which can either be changed fortnightly or monthly depending on what your optician recommends, and depending on how the sites interpret this can affect how many lenses you get for your "six month supply"


To complicate matters further, some sites let you buy the lenses separately, some want you to buy in pairs, one for each eye (and I have different prescriptions for each eye). Some charge for postage, some don't. Some are on price comparison sites and some aren't. Usually I have to go to about 6 different sites and actually have the orders in the basket so I can see how many lenses I am getting and what the postage will be before I can actually figure out which is the cheapest.


There MUST be an easier way? I have searched for but failed to find any kind of contact lens price comparison site. I find this strange as many people wear lenses now so must face the same dreary round the houses chore I do. Suggestions, anyone?
