OP with a CC

Hi all
This is a question for all you clever clever folk.
I've been thinking if it would be worthwhile making my OP's via my Tesco Credit Card, and then using savings to clear the Credit Card.

Is this a decent idea, I would then be earning clubcard points by paying off mortgage. Tried phoning Mortgage provider to see if this possible, but they close early on a weekend, I was working.

Is it a wise idea, or daft?

As per your other thread, you need to check the T&Cs with your card provider. It's not something we can advise on as each one is different and it's not a straightforward yes or no answer

It's not impossible as others have reported doing it and there are threads on this on MSE on this board and the Credit Card board if you search

If you are lucky your CC provider will confirm that they will treat a mortgage payment as a 'normal' transaction, eg like buying a pair of shoes. However, from the other threads I've seen this is in the minority and will more than likely be considered a cash advance type of transaction so would likely incur far higher charges that your mortgage rate or anything you could earn via Tesco points so would not be a good plan. Only your card provider can confirm one way or another

Have you looked at paying your council tax by CC? That's seems to be a popular one
