Redundancy remortgage

Hi, I've been self employed for 6 years, income has gone down steadily over last few years so I've got a part time job starting after Easter. Husband has been told he'll be made redundant in 2 weeks time (27 March). Husband is thinking of retraining which will involve 4yr degree course. Can we remortgage if he's a student? We're on Alliance & Leicester 2 part mortgage SVR 4.99% so can't easily remortgage with existing lender Santander as they don't transfer A&L m/gages which have more than 1 part. Dilemma ... advice please.

You can consider remortgaging to any lender that will offer you enough money based on your income, but not your husbands.

Thank you. Just wondering if we could quickly organise a remortgage now using husband's salary before it stops. Would our own bank (First Direct) need to see all the usual payslips and SA302s when they have access to our online bank accounts? Are 3 months payslips the usual requirement? I've asked for SA302s from HMRC but they may take a few weeks to arrive. Perhaps we could start application now though and forward SA302s on when they arrive.0
