I didn't think age was in the criteria. Is it not sibling next and maybe 1st child? You may take a look at admissions criteria on the school website.

I was told yesterday that school ds was hoping to get into has put their score up by 3 well that will be him not getting a place if that is the truth ...do any off you know what way being the youngest works is it helping or is it the oldest they look at 1st ?

Do their criteria work that way? Most schools just do it by plain "highest scores applying", so you don't know the lowest score until all the places are allocated. Even the ones that use mixed criteria (something like: first hundred according to score and the rest by other rules) don't usually set minimums.
But you'd really need to check the published criteria set by the school.

Cherryscones, unless it comes from the horses mouth it's only hearsay. Schools aren't allowed to make comments on their admissions until after the letters are out. Up to 11th May changes can still be made to a child's form and it's only after this that schools then notify the board where places are available and the board will have the names of any pupils without a place. No parent will know until that Saturday morning which school their child has got into.....so keep an open mind you just never know 😃
Hi and welcome to our thread have you a child starting year 8 this year ?

Is any other p7 child still getting homework every night? My DD got 56 arithmetic questions last night! She has lost all interest in doing the same stuff and she now gets the half of it wrong when she would have got them all right a while back. Very frustrating so I wish they would ditch the p7 homework and let them have a nice end to primary school.
