Hi,

My wife is foreign and will be coming to the UK soon. The result of this is that she has no credit history at all. She also can't go on the electoral register.

Will it still be possible to do a joint mortgage application once she has a job or is this going to be really difficult? My income is not really enough for the area to get a big enough mortgage on my own.

Time resident in the UK is an issue for most of the lenders out there. There may be one or two who will lend on day one, but subject to credit score.

Others start at a min six months in UK and upwards with the whole market being available after three years residence.
