Cavendish Online

I am looking to start a SIPP and have narrowed my search down to Cavendish or Bestinvest. The only thing putting me off Bestinvest is their exit fees so I am considering using Cavendish.
Does anyone have any views on these two providers? Also why do Cavendish call theirs a fund supermarket pension? Is there a difference between this and a SIPP?

A SIPP includes the features of a fund supermarket. SIPPs are not required to but have traditionally included options like the use of ETFs, investment trusts, and shares, as well as more esoteric options that have not traditionally been available from fund supermarkets because these things aren't funds. Nothing in law prevents a fund supermarket from offering these things.0

Because it only offers a selection of unit trusts and OEICs. Not whole of market (like a SIPP you would find on a wrap platform)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I have Cavendish Online for a Trust Investment and went with them for the low charges. However, I select the funds of my choice and review them from time to time.
My own SIPP is with Hargreaves Lansdowne and I transferred a number of pensions when starting my SIPP and I have minimised charges by again dealing with my own funds.
If you are just starting thinking about a SIPP, do you have pensions to transfer in,(£ ? ) or just starting out in the pension world?

I have some small pension pots, one of them because I opted out of SERPS 20 years ago. I also have a share ISA. I looked at HL for a SIPP but thought that their charges were on the high side. I'm not intending to transfer these into the new SIPP or fund yet because I don't know the transfer costs yet. I also have a LGPS and this new SIPP is intended to bridge the gap between 57-67.
Can I add to more than one SIPP or pension provider at a time?0 -
I must leave your question to others to answer who have the expertise to advise on pensions. My comments were only regarding where some of my investments were held, including Cavendish and HL, both of which I have been pleased with.
