After 25 years working as an employee I now run my own Company over last 12 months. I have looked at long term savings plans as part of a retirement plan but not intending to retire for at least 10 years or so. I am 52 years old. I really like the idea of SIPPS (I have dabbled successfully in shares before) but as with pension providers the SIPP charges and rates are not cheap and feel are unnecessary. Can you offer any advice in this area? What are the barriers and strengths to setting up your own pension trust?
