Well now I am confused ! You answered a post to someone that is going on Saturday that you will see them on Sunday? How will you see them on Sunday if they are going at 4am on Saturday?I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. It’s a very demanding time for all. My main job in the first day of sale is to make sure that health and safety is provided for customers in a given zone. I’m referring to basic things too. In the last sale, I had several arguments with people just for asking them to move their large clear bags out of the main walking paths so people don’t fall over them. I’ll never forget a particular woman who didn’t appreciate my job, and when she opened her mouth to bellow at me; I nearly passed out as her foul morning breath hit my face. Having said that, there are some interesting/funny things that happen.
I’m very proficient & experienced on the tills; and but I honestly cannot bear the intensity sometimes. The sheer speed, pace and claustrophobia on tills makes me feel queasy. Thankfully, Next give their till users free water bottles as it’s extremely demanding. Remember the till user has been on that till for hours and hours!!! We also have people who maintain queues, deal with security at the doors, replenish sale stock, or simply try to recover given sale zones so that they look presentable - and all the while attending customer needs.
I think the best part of the sale is that I can go through the stock room, just before the sale at a leisurely pace, and select anything I fancy and put them to aside to buy in my own time. I don’t have to suffer the sale conditions customers have to endure thankfully.0 -
