big massive bobbin things?

don't know what they are called but i am looking for those big wooden things that you see with electricity cable wrapped around.

so sorry about my description but i want one of these things to paint and keep in the garden as a nice table.

does anyone know where i can get one in the county antrim area?

You're looking for a wooden cable drum. Unlikely you'll get one for free but big electrical/electronics places will have them.

As far as I'm aware they tend to get recycled though.

There's a BT depot at The Cutts, Dunmurry, full of these things but I don't know how they get rid of them when they're done, I'm sure they get reused until no good for their intended purpose.

Try your local electrician, when we last had some work done they left one and we got to keep it.n
