Lovely to hear from you Jimmy!
Sorry to hear about your grandma and your wife’s family member. It’s very true that Covid is having an effect on health all round, not just directly. 😔
Impressive running there, although I share the concerns about your dog - he’s only little isn’t he?!
Lovely to hear that the children are all doing well despite the circumstances.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Jimmy! Brilliant to get a lovely long post from you, thank you. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother though - but you're right, fast is better if it's going to happen. And that's horrendously recent too. There's obviously lots of other health issues going on in the background, but at least in your immediate family its only the dog's paws that are at issue (you can tell how we like that
).
Doesn't matter about posting at previous frequency - the previous frequency of overpayments and pensions and emergency fund isn't happening, so that balances. But an occasional update will stop us chasing you

So much to update myself on...its quite daunting to say the least!
Ok then a few money updates that I can think back on. I switched gas and leccy and subsequently OP'd the cashback that landed in November. I've also switched our house insurance just last week. As ever the customer retention conversation never ceases to amaze me. Try and follow:
Me - "I'm ringing to cancel the renewal of my policy"
Them - "May I ask the reason"
Me - "Yes, you may ask"
Long pause then, me chuckling inside and them probably thinking here we go again with another wise guy...
Them - "What reason would you like to cancel"
Me - " I no longer believe that you deserve my business"
Them (looking at their sheet of pre prepared statements) - "Erm, what is it that you're not happy with"
Me - "I musn't be a valued customer as your renewal quote is a disrespectful offer"
We then had the usual lets see what we can do merry go round...
On my overall money front I completed my usual end of the month round up last night. So spreadsheet is all up to date and I'll post some figures later this evening (our mortgage neutral quest is looking nice and healthy). I'm now heading out on school run!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......10 -
