Update See post 30 A WIN AT POPLA!!
Help please.
Am trying to assist my son - He received a notice for overstaying in a supermarket carpark.
He did pop in for a few items but afterwards, his car woudn't start!
As both myelf & his Dad were at work, he had to leave his car & get the bus home. We then went back at 5pm & managed to get the car home.
Car is now actually booked in with my garage next week to be looked at
The car park is free to park for 3 hours, no ticket required.
I have tried to speak to the Supermarket manager who has advised us to appeal.
Anyone have any experience with Horizon?
Should we appeal or just pay?
Not happy as I told my son to leave a note in the windscreen but he couldn't find a pen!

Do not pay anything unless ordered to do so by a judge, and that is a long way down the line from where you are now. That seems to be the Golden Rule. You'll need to list the date the ticket was issued, and where it was issued. Meanwhile have a read through this - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/48168220

If the supermarket knew he was leaving his car there ask them for written confirmation and also ask them to write to Horizon cancelling the 'charge'Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Should we appeal or just pay?
No need to ask using the word 'pay' - no! just read the Newbies thread!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0

            I am sooo confused??
I've spent hours today reading through flowcharts and threads and links and am even more confused!
This is a PCN issued on a windscreen
Should I ignore completely until I hear further or, appeal to the company first?
 Thanks"Hope for the Best

wait for the NTK , then the RK appeals
also complain to the supermarket and insist on a cancellation0

I called into the supermarket today, spoke with the duty manager. She said I should speak with Horizon and explain the situation to them and she felt sure they would understand??wait for the NTK , then the RK appeals
also complain to the supermarket and insist on a cancellation
I took in the original ticket and also the repair bill from the garage regarding work done to the car a week after the breakdown.
She then went on to say that if they didn't cancel the ticket to go back to her and she would see what she could do.
Shall I do this or just continue to ignore at this stage?
The parking is free for 3 hours, he was issued a ticket 17 minutes after this 'free' period.
Have taken a pic of the sign and will post in a mo."Hope for the Best

wait for NTK, then put the appeal template in as an appeal, also complaining that the driver had "broken down" (or whatever it was) and the duty manager of the supermarket wants the ticket cancelled
if they fail to do this in their appeal reply, take it to popla and also complain to the duty manager and the CEO at head office too0
