Change tariff to take advantage of solar panels?

Hi Guys,

Got an email today from the energy saving club to say that i could save £88 by switching from EDF to NPower.

As I have solar panels with an iboost for the hot water, I was looking at the daily charges as well as the unit cost.

Here are the two (all in pence)...

Current EDF
Gas Daily Charge 26.25
Unit 3.343
Electric Daily Charge 18.9
Unit 11.64

Suggested NPOWER
Gas Daily Charge 8.662
Unit 3.15
Electric Daily Charge 21.157
Unit 10.668

As you can see the gas daily charge is conserably less on Npower...As I have an iboost (installed since december) Im hoping to use next to no gas in the Summer months.

The only thing that is higher on the suggested npower tariff is the electricity daily charge.

Is this a no brainer? What do you other solar folks look for in your tariffs?

Have you looked at splitting the accounts? Maybe stick with EDF for leccy and Npwer for gas? Always worth considering even after the usual dual fuel discounts.

All comes down to what you use, do you know your average daily consumption?
