Threatening letter from the council, can I be prosecuted?

so I actually called the mobile, The voice says “calls to this number are not being connected”

My Motorola also says it’s a number from The Isle of Man !

What is happening here? Not being thick, just interested to hear people’s opinions

A letter from the council will always have a landline on it, no official letter comes with only a mobile number!

Impossible to say for sure unless we see the letter but it could be your ex-housemates wrote it as a bad practical joke.

I just googled the reference number on the letter… what does come up? A site that shows templates of Council Parking Tickets ! templates which are identical to the letter I received !

Can I actually report this to the police? This is impersonating the Council !

I'll scan it and upload it on here when I have a bit of time

I would certainly report it to the police, but I would also half expect them to tell me to get lost
