    - Minecraft
    - Borderlands though I am not sure that is split screen!
  • Fable (3 I think) was great as a 2 player.

Borderlands is definitely split screen and was my first thought when seeing this topic as it's a super co-op game. The Halo games (Halo 3, Reach and Halo4) are split screen as well and offer decent co-op gaming.

    Nothing ever surpassed EDF2017.
Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.

Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

    Definitely Borderlands then.

It is a beautiful game, cartoon graphics etc.

Providing you don't mind nutters and occasional heads being removed!

I love Borderlands 2 for split-screen 2 player action, it was the first game I had in mind as soon as I read the title.

There are quite a few out there

    - I would second Minecraft and Halo. If you are into your shooters, I would also check out Army Of Two (1 and 2), Rainbow Six Vegas (1 and 2) and the Gears of War series as well as the already mentioned Borderlands 1 & 2.

    - Fable 2 (I think) and 3 have 2 players, although this is not splitscreen i.e. you both have to stick to the same small area.

    - For a bit of light hearted fun there are always theLego games with franchises such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings. On a similar vein although not 2 player really, I would also recommend Beautiful Katamari. Many a night have my fella and I played this game (generally fuelled by alcohol) taking a turn each and seeing if we can beat each others scores.

    - Another to consider is Portal 2. Although this is predominantly a 1 player game, the co-op story on it is just as good as well as being quite a few hours long too.

    - It might also be worth looking at what there is on the xbox online store, for example Castle Crashers is a fun little game that can be played with more than one person at a time.

    - If you get a hankering for some retro gaming you could always pick up the Sega Megadrive: Ultimate Collection which has a lot of two player games on it.

If in doubt just go into your local gaming/second hand store and look at the back of the box. If it is 2 player it will give you the number of players and then the number of co-op players (marked as "co-op") in *green*. This is important - if it only says this in orange, the multiplayer will be online.

    Hope this helps!
