Bankrupt today

Hi All,
So today i got the bankruptcy order signed sealed and stamped by the judge. I wanted to express my thanks to all those that helped me make this process a lot more simple than it would have been. The information on this site and from the members who answer questions is superb, thank you.
Now that I am officially bankrupt, I have two last questions:
1. From not paying my direct debits, I have "saved" £1300 to purchase a car that I will need for work. Should I take this money out of the account prior to the contact from the OR or leave it until they have spoken to me?
2. Should I send the bankruptcy order to my creditors or wait until they get in touch? What is the best way to go around this?
Thanks in advance

1. If it had been me I would have bought the car beforehand. Now it's cash you will have to declare and is effectively an asset they could claim. They may well not but I would play it safe.
2. Your call. If you have annoying or aggressive ones, then if me I would be proactive and send it. However, short of court papers through the post etc then it all they can do is make a 'noise'.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi Fermi, thanks for the response.
Normally I would have but I didn't get paid until Friday just gone
Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.0 -
I'd be surprised if you can access the account to be honest, they tend to get frozen, and it doesn't take long for it to happen!
Act quickly!I've been through the mill once or twice and come out the other side...0 -
Do not panic....if you have set up a basic bank account with either Barclays or Coop these accounts will not be frozen.
Other accounts may be once the O.R has contacted them, then its up to the bank once they have been notified.0
