Can I come off the application?

Me and my husband made a joint application with NatWest end of January, which was declined!.MA made another joint application with a different lender being Newcastle BS, anyhow the application is on hold because I AM Not able to provide sufficient documents they require. I was not on the electoral roll in our previous address and have no proof of residency for there, as it was a short let and I only have a provisional driving licence, which is not acceptable. So we have decided to take Myself off the application as my parter is the breadwinner and joint names on child tax credit I am the "home maker". The application is at underwriting stage. How will this work I'm waiting for MA to get back to us but this wait is agonising!.. any experience or input would be great. Thanks in Advance.

  • We considered doing the opposite (adding me to a sole application) with nationwide. They told us to do a separate application then call them so that they could link the two together thus avoiding any repetition of fees. You need to speak to your MA really, every lender may have a different policy on this. Worth asking whether any other documents may be acceptable like a utility bill from the previous address etc.

If you come off the application you won't be on the title deeds. If you are providing a deposit you will have to sign a gifted deposit form but for some lender this can be problematic as you will be residing at the house (this is our problem and I am keeping my fingers crossed that nationwide doesn't mind). In other words this issue is more complex than it would appear.

As I just have stated I have no proof of residency For that address what so ever.. The deposit is being gifted by my husbands parents he will be the main applicant. I'm not concerned for my name to be on deeds as I can change this at a later date. My credit report is fine no debt no, credit cards, no contacts same for my partner its just the electoral roll issue for myself! No proof of residency :( well if it makes it easier to put a Secure roof over my child's head and solid foundations under her feet then so be it :)
  • Then it might be doable but speak to the MA

Not sure why you were on it in the first place without proof of address.
