I thought I'd try one when swimming, to relieve the boredom so I can do more lengths!
Does anyone have experience of them and can recommend or not recommend a particular make ?
Thank you

Just bumping for people coming home from work (!)
I would be grateful for views, thanks as always.

FWIW I've tried about four and they've all stopped working within a few weeks. Admittedly these have all been cheapies (£30 or under) but I wouldn't risk more money. Technology may have improved though0

Both my wife and I have used these in the past. They work very well for swimming, running and cycling. Only gripe is they stop working after about 2 years and Sony say that is their Expected life.0

I have had my Aquabeat 1 from Speedo since September 2012 and it is still going strong and I wouldn't be without it. I use it about 5 times a week, all the colour has faded from it on the buttons but it still works fine.
The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the headphones are proper sport over the ear ones which hurt my ears so I buy cheap underwater headphones from Ebay (around £5 but only last a couple of months ).
I actually got the Aquabeat from Ebay new too (around £50 ) although if you want to buy it from Speedo directly you can join Swimfit for free and get 10% off .
Hope that helps.0 -
Goodness. Seems like I've been unlucky. I might try again then...0

thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. I'll have a look on Amazon at your recommendations.

I bought one from Amazon but can't remember the brand, would need to look. It was advertised specifically for swimming. It looked good and couldn't wait to try it but turned out to be a real disappointment.
For one, the quality is very poor (WIFI) and I constantly lost signal. Worse though, the ear pieces were dreadful and wouldn't hold in my ears through the movement of front crawl. I constantly had to put them back on and in doing so, twice managed to get one stuck in my ears to the point that it took quite a few minutes and a very close trip to A&E to remove it. After that, it went at the back of my gym bag and remained!0 -
I bought this from Amazon recently. (It's gone up in price.)
It's great and makes it much easier to swim for longer, but the first set of headphones only lasted a couple of weeks (I swim five times a week) before one side stopped working. Customer service was very good and the headphones were replaced immediately. It's too early to say how well this set lasts.
It was difficult to find much in way of reviews before I bought the Exeze Rider. This Finis did very well in what few reviews there were, but it's a lot more expensive. It works in a completely different way, so the headphones issue common to most doesn't apply. If I end up replacing the Exeze I'll probably bite the bullet and pay the extra for it.. . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me..

Blimey I spent ages on Amazon yet missed that one, thanks for posting. :T0
