At a loss with Abbey

This is a great site martin, to put this in the shortest form for the moment. I went back in 2004 to add joint names to our mortgage, I have been paying the mortgage for 20 years plus with out my name on the deeds, just my wife. The Abbey has lost forms, sent paper work to wrong solicitors, even our solicitors could not see why it keeps going wrong, we have been on a fixed rate that was bad for us, while this is sorted out, and can not move our mortgage till this has been done, we have been paying just over 7% since 2004. We are at the end of what we can deal with, and costs legal and fix rate are pushing us over the edge. Where can we go from here to make the Abbey deal with us, with out more mistakes?

write an official complaint. If you have copies of letters etc - enclose copies and refer to them.
Tell them that you are not happy and they have 8 weeks to make a formal response. If you dont like the response take them to the Financial Omdudsman.
Could you not remortgage elsewhere and put in joint names - would cost less in legal fees I am guessingI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
